From across the Atlantic Ocean, images of British Rockers hitting “the ton,” rugged Alpine trekkers on knobby-tired adventure bikes and 200MPH thrill seekers on the polished surfaces of Tuscany’s Mugello race circuit have evoked a sense of excitement and adventure that continues with Eurobike events.
Eurobike brings together the best examples of European design excellence and offers something for anyone interested in motorcycles, the motorcycling lifestyle and “speed as art. ”Aprilia, BMW, BSA, Ducati, Moto Guzzi, MV Agusta, Norton, and Triumph are just some of the marques that we appreciate. Along with European makes, Eurobike also has a soft spot for scooters and café racers from Europe, the U.S., Japan and elsewhere; classic styles inspired by the Mods and Rockers of 1960s England.
Eurobike is presented by a local group of café racer enthusiasts dedicated to preserving the history, camaraderie, and D.I.Y. philosophy of classic and retro-styled motorcycles and their lifestyle. It started as a modest annual event in 2009, and quickly grew, moving to larger capacity venues. The show has been put on each year by volunteers, and all extra proceeds have been donated to a chosen charity.
Usually our big annual event is held in April or early May and marks the beginning of NC motorcycle events. In the past our event has award prizes in several attendee-judged categories. We have also featured vendor booths, tech talks, custom builders bike show and food. All bikes are welcome, and we invite the general public to attend this family friendly event.
Due to the pandemic the 2020 and 2021 shows were cancelled, but we will have a get together in Fall and are planning to get back on track for 2022. In the last year the EuroBike organizing team revisited what we want the EuroBike to be for the area and have decided to expand beyond the annual event, and strive for connection with the local motorcycle community and businesses. We will be organizing more rides, meetups throughout the year, while still having our marquee event in the Spring.
Next year, Raleigh North Carolina will once again hosts the Southeast’s largest gathering of European and Euro-inspired motorcycles. The eleventh-annual Eurobike will be a family-friendly event dedicated to the style and sophistication of European mechanical design and the history of the machines that inspire the imagination with a feeling of freedom and a hint of rebellion.
Currently in the planning stage, a location and date will be forthcoming in late 2021.
Join your fellow enthusiasts for riding and fellowship as we host meetups and events throughout the year.
